The Early Navajo (Dine) Child’s Blanket (PS02) is a wonderful example of the Classic Period of Navajo weaving. They were called child’s blankets because the the small size, complex patterns and high weave. The blanket s featured variations in the red used which comes from red trade cloth that they unraveled and wove into their new creations. The weaving is based on an original weaving in The Durango Collection. The Preservation Series is a unique new collection of blankets that are recreations of historic weaving from across the Americas. From each sale a royalty will be used to support Native American arts, education and health.
